Job shadowing in Malta – 3 Romanian Teachers

Lexema is not just for students, but also for teachers, who are interested in participating in our projects.

We welcomed Sidonia, Laura and Silvia from the 23rd April to the 27th April. 4 days of great experiences between job shadowing activities and discovery of the archipelago of Malta and its culture.

Our 3 Romanian teachers came from Scoala Gimnaziala Nr. 3 Suceava as part of Erasmus+ KA1 Staff program for the "Motivation, Commitment, Cooperation for European Quality Education" project. This Project aims at observing and learning other European countries' teaching methods in order to modernize and improve the educational process, strengthen the relationships with students, parents and community and provide quality education at European level.

When they arrived, on the 23rd April, we offered them a tour in Paceville (Saint Julian’s) to show them beautiful spots around. Portomaso and its yachts, Spinola Bay and the very well-known Love Monument. Then we showed them their accommodation, a lovely apartment in the city center, 5 min walk from the sea and the bus stop.

We explained them the places they can go the day after (as it was the week-end), they decided to go to Gozo. Discovered the citadel of Victoria and Ta’Pinu church. From the top of the Citadel, the view of Gozo is 360 °!

On Monday, we organized a visit at Clubclass, the only residential English language school in Swieqi. The tour was really interested and our dear headmaster Sidonia asked a lot of questions.

Then we went to Naxxar to discover Mikiel Anton Vassali College (Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary), the place where our 3 teachers would have to spend every morning during 4 days for job shadowing.

On Tuesday afternoon, a visit and guided tour at Le Meridien Hotel was organized for them. An amazing hotel located in Saint Julian’s, overlooking on the beautiful Balluta bay. Our kind guide made us discover almost all t

he operation processes and facilities of a Hotel (kitchens, pools, fitness Centre). A very impressive and interesting visit!

On Wednesday, the girls went to discover the baroque city of Valletta, capital of Malta and European Capital of Culture in 2018!

On Thursday afternoon, we visited Am language, another English school located in Sliema. Another very interesting visit for our 3 Romanian teachers who asked a lot of questions once again, might plan to send some students to follow English courses in one of these schools sooner than we think? (To be continued)

Their stay was coming to its end, but all good things must come to an end, right? For their penultimate day, the adventurers girls chose to discover the island a little more….

“It was a perfect experience” - Sidonia
