My name is Sixten and I study IT at NTI gymnasitet In Sweden. I am currently doing my internship in Malta at Lexema, and it has truly been an experience I am very happy I decided

to take.

My internship is part of an Erasmus+ internship program organized by Lexema in cooperation with my school. When I was given the opportunity to do my internship abroad, it immediately felt like something I wanted to try. It is a great chance to improve my English, gain international work experience, and experience what it is like to live and work in another country.

During my internship I work with Lexema’s website. I help come up with new ideas for how the website can be developed and improved, and I also work on optimizing it for mobile users so it becomes more user-friendly and easier to navigate on different devices. It has been very interesting to work on these tasks in an international environment, and I learn a lot every day by being part of the team and seeing how ideas can be turned into real improvements.

Lexema has also made the entire process very smooth. They helped with all the practical arrangements and provided a fantastic apartment for me during my stay here. This made it much easier to settle into life in Malta and focus both on my internship and on exploring the island.

In my free time I try to explore as much of Malta as possible. I have already visited the historic city of Mdina, where the narrow streets and old buildings make it feel like stepping back in time. I have also been to the colorful fishing village of Marsaxlokk and its famous fish market, where the traditional luzzu boats fill the harbor and the atmosphere is full of life. I have also visited Valletta and Sliema, and I am looking forward to discovering even more places during the rest of my stay.

Getting around Malta is also quite easy. Public transportation works relatively well and the buses can take you to most places on the island. If it ever becomes a bit complicated or takes too long, there is always Bolt, which is easy to use and quite affordable. This makes it simple to travel around and discover new parts of the island, even after work or on weekends.

One thing I really appreciate about Malta is how international it is. You hear many different languages everywhere, and it is easy to meet people from all over the world both at work and in everyday life. This makes the experience even more interesting and rewarding.

I am very grateful for this opportunity and feel that I am growing both personally and professionally through this experience. I would absolutely do this again and can strongly recommend an Erasmus+ internship to other students who want to gain international experience, improve their language skills, and experience life in a new country.
